Falling Leaf transforms a classic 1970s A-frame cabin nestled in the mountains of Idyllwild into a modern retreat for friends, family, or a serene solo escape from urban life. The renovation encompasses a comprehensive overhaul, blending contemporary design elements with the cabin's rustic charm.
The main focus is a versatile gathering space that seamlessly integrates indoor and outdoor living. A fully redesigned wraparound deck featuring a hot tub invites relaxation amidst the mountain landscape, while strategically placed large glass windows flood the interior with natural light and panoramic views of the forest.
Inside, the lower level features social activity areas — a kitchenette, arcade games, and a sunken conversation pit. The upper levels were redesigned with a modernized kitchen, bathrooms, and a signature open staircase as the central architectural feature.
Falling Leaf incorporates energy-efficient upgrades and solar technology for off-grid capability. Small balconies on the upper floors enhance the indoor-outdoor connection and the breathtaking natural surroundings.
