The origin of one team
Riley Projects grew out of a frustration that anyone who has built a custom home will recognize. The residential construction process is broken — budgets spiral, timelines slip, communication disappears, and talented people end up project-managing their own contractors instead of enjoying what should be one of the most meaningful investments of their lives.
We believed the fix wasn't better contractors or more talented architects working in isolation. It was integration — putting design, building science, and construction under one roof so that no detail is lost in translation, no cost surprise surfaces at the eleventh hour, and the team imagining your space is the same team building it. That conviction became the studio.
We work at three scales — residences, retreats, and communities — because the principles hold whether you're designing for one family or two hundred guests. Deep listening. Material honesty. Spaces calibrated for the way people actually live, not the way they photograph. Healthy materials and clean air come standard, because that's simply how good building works.
We keep our practice deliberately small so that every client works directly with our principals and every detail carries the studio's full conviction. We're building toward employee ownership — because the people who build should share in what they build. And we use technology to stay organized and responsive, not to replace the human judgment that makes homes feel right.

Every product in our palette has been vetted for health, performance, and beauty. Every assembly has been built and tested. Every material in our system is Red List Free, carrying embodied carbon data and responsible sourcing certification. We measure for air quality, we design for durability, we specify for health. This isn't marketing—it's simply how good building works. A space that looks beautiful but makes you sick isn't well-designed. Neither is one that will need to be rebuilt in fifteen years because it was built without integrity.
