Community-scale residential projects are about a different kind of listening: to how people want to be together and alone simultaneously.
We design the social infrastructure first. Where do people naturally gather? What paths create repeated, unforced encounters? How do private gardens relate to shared land? Once those patterns are established, individual homes fill in with the same commitment to craft and material quality that defines all Riley work.
The result is density that doesn't feel dense — neighborhoods where neighbors become friends not because they're forced together but because the space invites natural community.
